Which Festive Drink You Should Make?  (Water Signs)

Cancer:  Mistletoe Martini

Love is all around us, especially during the holiday season, and this alluring drink will pair perfectly with the mistletoe you have hanging over every doorway, Cancer.  Not that we can blame you!  Spreading love is how you feel the most joy during the holidays!

To make this dreamy, amorous drink, you’ll need cherry brandy, vodka (of course!), lime, and simple syrup.  Add each ingredient into a cocktail shaker half full of ice and shake vigorously for at least thirty seconds.  Then, strain the drink into martini glasses.  If you like your drinks sweet, feel free to add a sugar rim to give the appearance of freshly fallen snow — a lovely and tasty addition.

A traditional martini calls for olives, but for this festive drink you’re going to want to use either raspberries or cranberries to drop into your martini, along with two sprigs of rosemary for a garnish — reminiscent of visions of mistletoe!

To make this drink non-alcoholic:  Mix orange juice, chilled cranberry tea, and sparkling elderflower with a splash of lemon juice.  It won’t taste exactly the same, but the result will give you a sweet and fruity flavor with a rich red color!

Scorpio:  The Jack Skellington Cocktail

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a timeless, animated film that combines your two favorite holidays, Scorpio — Christmas and Halloween!  This festive drink matches Jack Skellington’s black-and-white aesthetic to a T — and tastes delicious too!

While the recipe is simple enough, it does require a little bit of prep work.  To prepare your glass, heat some marshmallow fluff (aka marshmallow creme, spread, or paste) on a smallish (about 8” diameter), microwave-safe plate for about fifteen seconds — just enough for it to melt!  Wet the rim of your martini glass(es) with water.  You’ll want to dip the rim of your glass into the fluff, letting it roll down the sides into the body of glass to create a ghostly pattern.  Set the glass aside for a few minutes to let the fluff set.

For the drink itself, combine black rum, crème de cacao, and one drop of black food coloring over a cup of ice in a cocktail shaker.  Strain into your “Skellington” glass and garnish with a brightly-colored peppermint stick to serve!

It will be the talk of your annual Nightmare Before Christmas watch party — guaranteed!

To make this drink non-alcoholic:  Substitute a spooky shake for the liquor and liqueur!  Mix vanilla ice cream, milk, and a drop of black food coloring in your blender until smooth.  Pour your shake into your marshmallow fluffed martini glass, and enjoy with a red-and-white striped straw!

Pisces:  Peppermint Patty

The Peppermint Patty is a spiked hot chocolate that uses two liqueurs to create a sweet and sensational flavor that resembles the popular candy of the same name.  This warm and delicious drink is perfectly paired with a cozy night in.  All your loved ones snuggled under blankets by a roaring fire — that’s your kind of party, Pisces!

To start, you’ll want to prepare your hot chocolate.  The recipe says homemade is best (and the recipe is included!).  While we certainly agree, if you don’t have the time or inclination, then a boxed mix will do just fine.  Pour your hot chocolate into your favorite seasonal mug.  Then mix in some creme de cacao — either white or dark (for a richer consistency) — and peppermint schnapps.

Now, you can also add in some white creme de menthe, if you’d like!  This liqueur is a little more difficult to find, but it adds a nicely balanced flavor of mint.

You can garnish this drink with whipped cream, crushed peppermint candies, chocolate shavings, and a sprig of mint.  For optimum peppermint goodness, use a candy cane as a stirring spoon!

To make this drink non-alcoholic:  Substitute the peppermint schnapps with a little peppermint extract and omit the creme de cacao entirely.  If you want to add an additional chocolatey flavor, you can squeeze in a small amount of chocolate syrup!

  1. I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful.
