Aries — Pearl Bailey
Aries, your fire sign is singer Pearl Bailey.
Loud, proud, and authentically 100% herself, Pearl Bailey embodies the Aries spirit! Bailey (born March 29, 1918) was a force to be reckoned with throughout the 20th century. She got her start by performing in Philadelphia nightclubs during the 1930s and by touring with the USO (United Service Organizations) during WWII, entertaining the troops with her robust performances.
Her act was an engaging mix of humor and song. This gave her an edge in the entertainment industry and helped her stand out as a solo artist. Her top songs include “Toot Toot Tootsie, Goodbye” and “Two to Tango.” The latter charted for 17 weeks on the Billboard Best Selling Singles Chart and peaked at #7.
But Bailey was much more than a sensational singer. As an actress, she lit up the stage in productions like St. Louis Woman and co-starred in films like Carmen Jones and Porgy and Bess. Her role as Dolly in an all-black Broadway revival of Hello Dolly! earned her a Tony award in 1968.
Always a champion for the people, Bailey was well-known for her humanitarian efforts and was even appointed the U.S. Ambassador of Love in 1970 and attended several United Nations meetings. She served as a Goodwill Ambassador during the ‘70s and ‘80s and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Ronald Regan in 1988 before her passing in 1990.

Leo — Whitney Houston
Leo, your fire sign is singer Whitney Houston.
In true Leo fashion, Whitney Houston (born August 9, 1963) always knew how to light up the room. She was born for the spotlight and spent much of her early years dazzling audiences at her local church. From young vocalist to teen model to movie star, there was nothing Houston couldn’t accomplish — and she always looked fabulous while doing it! Whitney owned disco in the ‘80s, and her rendition of Dolly Parton’s I Will Always Love You was legendary.
The stunning child of a successful soul and gospel singer, she was at home on stage. Whitney often wore bold, dazzling colors to go with her warm, infectious charm. Her natural radiance shone as brightly as her glittery ensembles of sequins and rhinestones. Her hairstyles varied greatly throughout the years. However, she was best known for her voluptuous curly locks cut short in a bob.
Houston was also a sensational businesswoman. Once she successfully crossed over into acting, Houston would often release lead singles from the movie soundtracks. She smashed records and assured both the film and the album would be a hit! We love a business-savvy queen!
With seven chart-topping studio albums, five blockbuster films, and countless other accomplishments, Houston is third on Guinness World Records’ “Most American Music Awards Won” list, surpassed only by Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift. She also established the Whitney Houston Foundation for Children, Inc., in 1989. This foundation helps children all over the world overcome illnesses, homelessness, and mental health issues.
Sadly, her record-breaking career was cut short at the age of 48. She was a shining star taken far too soon, but her legacy will live on forever.

Sagittarius — Brenda Lee
Sagittarius, your fire sign is singer Brenda Lee.
Brenda Lee (born December 11, 1944) was a child prodigy. She started her professional singing career at the age of only six years old! She captivated audiences with her huge, belting voice. After singing Glazer and Garson’s “Dynamite,” little Brenda Lee (who grew to just 4 ft 9 in) was nicknamed “Little Miss Dynamite”! With her powerful, grown-up voice, she had earned her first recording contract by the age of twelve.
In true Sagittarius fashion, Lee was equipped with versatile vocals and the uncanny ability to pick up new styles quickly. She was able to seamlessly transition throughout her career from rockabilly to pop and back to country music. This generated huge commercial success. She was extraordinarily popular in the late 1950s and ‘60s — fourth overall behind Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Ray Charles. She’s sold over 100 million records to date. Lee was also the first and only woman inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (until Dolly Parton joined her in 2022).
On top of her success in the US, Lee also became an international sensation. Brenda Lee was one of the first recording artists to do so! She toured throughout the world in the 1960s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. She recorded her hits in multiple languages and was topping the charts all over the world with her signature songs like “I’m Sorry” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
Today, she lives with her husband, daughters, and grandchildren in Nashville, TN. She still sings on occasion, especially around the holidays. However, for the most part, she spends her days happily retired, basking in the success of a long, accomplished career.
